Boys go pink for a good cause

On Saturday 11 February, the boys from the First XI Cricket Team went pink to fundraise for the McGrath Foundation, which places Breast Care nurses in communities across Australia.

Everyone's a winner on Pink Stumps Day

There's an old adage that 'pink and green should never be seen'. Our cricketers proved the saying wrong, looking splendid in their pink hats and sunblock against the backdrop of the lush cricket oval the Pink Stumps Day home match against St Patrick’s College.

CCGS Cricket Convenor Matthew Phillips said there was "a great vibe on the day" with everyone getting into the spirit of the occasion. Of course there was a competitive game to be played too. CCGS batted first and made 72, then St Patrick’s College were 2/35 when the thunderstorm struck and play was abandoned. So, there were no losers, with the end result being a draw.

The team are collecting donations and selling raffle tickets for a fantastic food hamper put together by First XI parents. "Everyone's a winner when they do something for others. We are most grateful for the solid support we have received from both the team and the parents for this initiative," said Matthew.
