Sports choices

School sport plays a vital role in our school’s aim of providing a well rounded education. A wide range of sporting choices enables all students to find a sport they can enjoy playing or take to the next level of competition. For the gifted athlete there are excellent opportunities to advance and excel at state and national level.

Sporting links

Central Coast Grammar School has sporting links with a range of independent schools. These links provide our students with the opportunity to compete against schools which share similar values and expectations and develop a wide network of friends through their school years.

  • ISA (Independent Sporting Association) The ISA provides opportunities for inter-school sport and includes weekend sport as well as annual Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming Carnivals. Students may gain selection to represent the ISA in competitions against students from other associations of both state and independent schools.ISA member schools

  • HICES (Heads of Independent Coeducational Schools) HICES links CCGS with over 40 independent coeducational schools in NSW. Each year, CCGS competes in senior HICES Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming Carnivals.

In 2013 a 3 year community partnership was established with Central Coast Academy of Sport (CCAS) to support the development of the region’s aspiring athletes. Central Coast Grammar School is a community partner and sponsor of specific CCAS sports programs including Netball, Rugby Union, Women’s Rugby Sevens, as well as the newly announced Future Stars Programs that identifies and supports pre-elite athletes in their chosen sport.

House competition

In addition to individual sports, students compete in House Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country carnivals. Students are encouraged to participate to the best of their ability. In some of the competitions, participation points are awarded and these points are tallied to establish which House wins the competition. The carnivals provide a wonderful opportunity to show school spirit and allow students to display their talents and gain selection to compete at a higher level.
