Jesus Christ Superstar: Senior School Musical

We are excited to extend to you an invitation to attend the ultimate rock-opera musical, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, which hits the CCGS Performing Arts stage between 3 - 6 August, 2022.

This famous Rock Opera is performed by an array of talent across Years 7-12 and stars Matthew Trethewy as Jesus, Abigail Gracia as Judas and Joan Han Park as Mary Magdalene.

The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire. The iconic 1970s rock score contains such well-known numbers as "Superstar", “I Don't Know How to Love Him” and “Gethsemane.”

Our version of this show uses haze and extreme lighting effects in a contemporary take on the story. Please be aware that strong themes such as death and violence are presented and therefore, it is not recommended for young audiences.
