Baseball: Field of dreams

The Major League Baseball Australian Academy recently invited Nicholas Anderson-Vine (Year 11) and 40 other elite baseballers from across Australia and NZ to participate in a four-week training camp in the USA. The camp focused on high-level instruction and skill development.

Nick played alongside and against the best players in Australia and learned from some of the best Australian and American coaches. Academic tutoring, sports psychology and lessons in life skills were also offered.

Nick's form was impressive and he was awarded the 'Coach’s Award' after finishing with a top 10 place in 14 of the 18 disciplines.

Since returning from camp, he’s been selected to participate in the World Select Baseball Team  featuring the top amateur talent from Africa, Australia, Europe and South America. He will also compete in the Arizona Fall Classic, the premier collegiate showcase tournament in the United States and with Major Leagues scouts in attendance, Nicholas is proving he’s one to watch in the future!
