CCGS community rallied behind alumni Charlie Hunter as he took on the Tokyo Olympics.

Last month the CCGS First XV Rugby team played their first home game of the season, a highly anticipated match against rivals Chevalier College. To mark the occasion, past CCGS Rugby players were invited back to show their support, provide some words of wisdom for the current team and reminisce about their own playing days.

When Caitlin De Wit graduated from CCGS in 2004 she thought she had it all figured out. She wanted to work hard, complete a Vet Science degree at Sydney University, work in England and travel around Europe. Life, however, presented her with some unexpected challenges along the way.

Pippa Temperley (2009) has a keen focus on the growth and development of elite athletes off field and the role that plays in their on-field performance. A career that includes working in the high performance divisions of Sydney and La Trobe Universities, and working with athletes across a variety of sports and career stages (including the Olympics), Pippa credits CCGS for fostering her love of sport.

Matt Graham (2012) has won the International Ski Federation’s World Cup Crystal Globe title in Kazakhstan and Charlie Hunter (2014) has been breaking Australian records in the USA.

Mitchell Wright (2008) is passionate about people and the intersection between design and psychology. He integrates this perspective into his work as an architect and examines how we can better design our homes to increase our wellbeing. Mitchell dreams of opening an architectural practice rooted in compassion and empathy for the user.

Michael Seton (2001) loves that the law allows him to problem solve in a way that makes a real difference in people’s lives. After years spent studying and travelling, Michael once again calls the Central Coast home, establishing Ryan & Seton Lawyers with fellow alumni Anthony Ryan.

After 45 years of service to education, Ms Denise McDonough, Head of Senior College, retires. Denise reflects on the education industry, her time at CCGS and has one final piece of advice for students.

The first year out of school can often throw up the unexpected once bell times, class schedules and teachers no longer call the tune. But for the class of 2019, this first year out was particularly challenging as many had to radically rethink their plans in the pandemic environment.

Central Coast Grammar School is a relatively young school, however our proud history is extraordinarily rich. In a special 35 year celebration, some of the individuals significant in the school’s early history have come together to make a video that reflects on those founding years.

Emily Dufton (2007) took her love of writing and let it guide her path. As a result her career has seen her meet the British Prime Minister while at The Telegraph in London, score loads of freebies as a lifestyle journalist and now she’s finding creative ways to make conservation and science cool for the masses.
