Damon Cooper

Head of Teaching and Learning

Damon Cooper is a passionate English teacher who believes that exceptional learning begins with empowering students to find joy, meaning and agency.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Literature, Economics and Philosophy, with Honours in English Literature, and a Master of Teaching, both from the University of Sydney. He also holds a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Harvard Business School.

At Grammar, Damon leads teaching and learning strategy and evidence-informed practice and supports teachers through professional learning and accreditation. Damon is committed to supporting teachers and students to nurture vibrant, reflective, and characterful communities.

Damon contributes to the work of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) in a range of capacities and works to support several professional teacher associations. He has published across subject disciplines and presented at educational and academic conferences.
