Extension and Enrichment

Our specialist leaders design engaging and challenging learning experiences across our curriculum, co-curricular programs and clubs. Learning progressions and data-driven insights allow us to track progression and meet each learner at their point of challenge. 

Every learning experience is crafted to ignite student imagination beyond the ordinary classroom. From hands-on projects to interdisciplinary challenges, students are encouraged to think critically, take intellectual risks, and develop a genuine passion for discovery. 

The guidance of our skilled educators also ensures that each student’s existing strengths are nurtured and new talents are discovered.

Our Directors of Studies oversee the scholars learning pathway, ensuring students progress at their own pace and explore their passions in depth. These opportunities build creativity, collaboration and resilience and equip students to tackle challenges with confidence.

Academic extension is about curiosity as much as achievement. Students are encouraged to take initiative, pursue independent projects and engage in problem solving that stretches their thinking. 

By providing access to advanced resources, mentorship and opportunities to present and share their work, we cultivate learners who are self-directed, confident and ready to make a difference.

Our Learning Enrichment Team covers both the Junior School and Senior School, and consists of Learning Enrichment Teachers, Learning Enrichment Teacher Aides, an English as an Additional Language or Dialect Teacher, and a dedicated High Potential Learners Teacher working within the Junior School.

Learning Enrichment ensures every student feels capable, valued and equipped to succeed. The team identifies individual strengths and learning needs, delivering evidence-based strategies and personalised support that help students overcome challenges and develop confidence in their learning.

These dedicated, expert teachers work closely with our class teachers and students to understand their individual needs, plan and implement adjustments, and monitor student success, while our Learning Enrichment Teacher Aides are responsible for supporting the implementation of group and individual supports across Kindergarten to Year 12.

Our Learning Enrichment Team also support our students and teachers by:

• Planning collaboratively with classroom teachers, offering team teaching, and working with small target groups where appropriate.
• Analysing data with classroom teachers to identify student needs, including standardised tests, observation techniques, and curriculum-based assessments to track student progress and diagnose learning needs.
• Referring students for further assessment by specialists such as psychologists, pediatricians, speech therapists and occupational therapists.
• Guiding and supporting all teachers in inclusive practice, including training in a range of practical learning and teaching strategies for differentiation within their programs.

Students are empowered to thrive in school and beyond, prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
