James Bowles

Deputy Head and Head of Senior School

James Bowles is an experienced school leader with a focus on culture, wellbeing, data informed improvement, and the design of meaningful student experiences.

James holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography from Bangor University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Secondary Science Education from Kingston University.

His work centres on building character-rich communities where students feel known, supported, and challenged to grow. James has led major initiatives in restorative practice, student leadership, experiential learning, and the use of data to lift outcomes for all learners, especially the ‘quiet middle’.

Above all, James is driven by clear values and a belief in helping young people find courage, purpose, and a strong sense of belonging.
