A Whole New World with Aladdin JR

October 26, 2026

Last week, audiences were transported to the shimmering deserts of Agrabah for our Junior School Performing Arts (JSPA) production of Disney’s Aladdin JR: an enchanting story of ambition, courage, loyalty and self-discovery brought to life by our Year 6 students.

The production saw students Ike, Penny, Leni, Rory, Madden and Maisie take on principal roles alongside lead performers Marie, Haadi, Harrison, Charlie, Jonah, Hazel, Matilda and Bethany, supported by the wider Year 6 cohort.

The cast and crew worked tirelessly to bring the magic of the much-loved story to the stage, with the production’s Director, Ms Sinead Zillie, highlighting the dedication and creativity of the students involved.

“A year in the making, and the result of countless hours of planning, dancing and singing, this production stood as a testament to what can be achieved when creativity and commitment unite.

“The energy, imagination and sheer dedication shown by our Year 6 cast throughout this journey has been nothing short of remarkable. For every hour rehearsed, every step perfected and every note sung, they have brought a colourful and vibrant world to life upon our stage,” Ms Zillie said.

The eagerly anticipated JSPA musical gives Year 6 students the opportunity to contribute both on and off the stage. Through this collaborative experience, every student can develop their skills and share in the excitement of bringing a show like this to life.

The production extends beyond the School community, too, with several nearby aged care facilities and preschools invited to enjoy performances of the show each year.

It’s a special chance for members of our local community to share in the magic of live theatre, and among this year’s audience were students from Highland Grove Preschool who will join our School as new Kindergarten students next year.

Their appreciation for the invitation was beautifully expressed through a homemade ‘thank you’ card presented to our Deputy Head of Junior School, Mr Geoff McGowan – a lovely gesture that reflects the connections being built ahead of their transition to school.
