Our School was buzzing with activity on Saturday 24 October as families, staff, alumni and local supporters came together for our Summer Sport Gala Day: a celebration of sport, community and friendly competition.
There was no shortage of on-field action for spectators to enjoy, with our students taking on other high-performing teams in basketball and touch football, and recording 19 wins and 1 draw across 26 matches.
As part of the afternoon, we also welcomed our incoming Kindergarten families for a special Rugby Gala event, with tri-tag and group games that allowed them to connect with our School community and get a taste of the sporting spirit that makes weekends here so special.
Attendees also enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends and grab a bite to eat from the BBQ, which was generously provided by our Parents & Friends Association (P&F).
Another highlight of the day was the annual Old Boys’ Basketball jersey presentation – a much-loved tradition that honours the enduring connection between our past and present players. This year’s jerseys were presented by alumni Lee Bailey (1989), Connor Wilkinson (2015), Angus McQueen (2015) and Harrison Mogg (2019).
From the courts to our fields, the event was a great reminder that sport here is about more just than the scoreboard, and it was wonderful to see attendees cheering on our teams and celebrating the collaboration, courage and resilience of our students.
