Whether for fun, fitness or the thrill of competition, sport plays a vital role in our school’s aim of providing a balanced education. We aim to provide a high standard of coaching, competition and sporting facilities for all students, regardless of ability.
In addition to PDHPE lessons, right from Kindergarten students participate in age appropriate House Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country carnivals – a wonderful opportunity to show school spirit and for older students to gain selection to compete at the next level.
After school sport starts in Kindergarten and interclub competition starts in Year 3. A wide range of sporting choices means most can find a sport they enjoy playing or want to take to the next level. For elite athletes there is a pathway to advance and excel at state and national level.
Training is before and after school and we compete in both local competitions, and Independent Sporting Association (ISA) carnivals and Saturday interschool sport fixtures, alongside a range of independent schools that share similar values and expectations.
International sport tours in the senior years extend the challenge and build cross cultural friendships through travel and billeting visiting sports teams.
Extensive indoor and outdoor sport facilities include:
- Indoor sports hall, with two full-size basketball/netball courts, gymnasium, PDHPE classrooms and an industrial kitchen for events.
- Outdoor tennis and basketball/netball courts.
- Full size, floodlit, all-weather multipurpose synthetic sports field hosting ISA hockey and softball games.
- Two rugby fields, three football fields, two cricket pitches and cricket nets.
